Extended description:

This map was released on St. Patrick’s Day 2005, just in time for a rather irreverent celebration of Easter.   Welcome to the “Cathedral Church of the Unholy Redeemer”.   The organist is Doctor D.Evil, who is very proud of his enormous organ.   Thankfully, you won't see Doctor Evil’s extra-ordinary organ in this map.

It is obvious that the praying Nali have had too many baked beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner ...

Rocket Jets are available from the roof of the cathedral and from the tomb near the southwest corner.

The only redeemer is available on the roof.

Two violently flatulent Nali, praying in the Tomb

The only sniper rifle is at the top of the bell tower (where else?)

The only flak cannon is in the crypt, between the west hall and the central chamber.

Some other weapons and ammo can be found in various locations.

Much enlarged powerups can be found near the altar:

Exterior view, of bell tower and roof

Is Doctor Evil over-compensating for something ... ?

The bots seem to prefer the close-quarters fighting in the crypt.   They rarely visit the upper galleries.   A few will visit the roof without spawning up there, but they rarely leave the roof alive.

From the centre of the crypt, one can gaze up through the translucent ceiling into the nave of the cathedral.   Part of the mirror in the central chamber is fake, hiding a short passage, under the altar, to the east door.

View from the Crypt, up into the Nave

The confessional box is at the upper left
In the gorgeous blue marble colonnade that is the north aisle, there is a “healthy confessional”, in which is the keg of health.   Staying inside the confessional box will restore your health at 5 units per second up to a maximum of 100.   The red south aisle contains ramps up to the wooden galleries.   There is a small lift in the southwest corner that leads to the roof of the bell tower.

A pair of visible transporters connects the stone gallery high above the altar with the roof of the tomb outside.

If you are in the jet, fire to break a window before flying into the nave of the cathedral.   You can also fire on the golden doors at the west end to open them, just in time to fly through.

The sound of breaking glass is a blasphemous source of satisfaction.   So many windows ...

As in CTFM-EvilXmas, one can have much heretical hilarity, trying to shoot the hymn books out of the nave, through broken windows or open doors.   In the low gravity, those books sure do go flying!

The map is completely zoned, with location information everywhere (which matters in team games, but not in classic deathmatch).

Do have an Evil Easter ...
